Working aboard Allseas "Audacia" pipelay vessel which is contracted to lay 2 x 22kms CRA pipelines for the Julimar Gas fields My primary role is to monitor all activities in the preparation of & welding out of sub sea pipe sections.Brief is to ensure that the procedures as specified are being fully adhered to. This starts from selection of pipe lengths for optimum fitup results, handling methods, machining tolerances, 100% contamination free & application of correct cleaning methods, This ensures that fitup to WPS can be achieved to gain a successful weld joint..Witness & verifiy that all in house QC activities are being monitored & recorded for daily reports to client desk for signoffs..Keep daily records & reporting of progress from quality, compliances, failures & any hold ups etc, Support any technical queries from the mainline personnel , offer guidance or clarification on a needs basis..Be supportive of all positive activities in line with good management practices

Welding Consultant to TDJV commissioning Engineers during final installation & commissioning of HV transformers. My principle role has been to review & submit written reports on the welding procedures, advise or make recomendations on best practices towards a successful outcome on identifiable defective welding methods or a preferred method of joining metals such as HV bus bars. Oversee the welders during the rectification & rewelding of components that have been identified as failed from a variety of reasons. Complete a final analysis report on test coupons which are tested using NDE & DE methods.This role is on a casual as required basis & availabilty around my work offshore.

Aboard Allseas Solitaire Pipelay Vessel W.A.

Main objective of the client Inspector is to monitor the Contractors Inspectors that quality control activities are being engaged to assure the client that the pipelay welding & coating is being completed to the client & contractors agreed specifications Monitoring of all aspects of pipewelding on the Double joint & Mainline welding stations.Liase & support contractors Inspectors to ensure client specifications at each stage of the pipelay operation are being applied & recorded for reporting purposes. Such as verification/ witnessing that weld joint fitup & preparations are within the WPS Record & report daily the progress, quality & any issues that may impact on the safety of personnel & quality of all activities on board vessel.Witness the monitoring & recording of daily welding parameters from each welding station. Offer technical advice or clarification as required.

Macedon Pipeline Project - Exmouth W.A.

Client QA/QC Inspector overseeing McDermotts Pipelay & Umbilical control piping contract from the Beach Pull to Subsea WellHeads. Approx. Length 77kms of 500nb pipe including Corrosion Resistant Alloy sections, inline sled & distribution manifolds. Monitoring of all activities from preparation for welding, NDE & Protective coating applications.

Macedon Pipelay Project Phase 2 - Exmouth Wa

Client QA/QC Inspector overseeing McDermotts Pipelay of Phase 2 - an 11km section of the Macedon Project... A short term of a couple of weeks to complete the pipe laying & tie in to existing pipe.. Monitoring of all activities from preparation for welding, NDE & Protective coating applications.

Manage all aspects of QA/QC from planning to installation through to the MDR handover to client. Develop & manage best practices for all pipe installation & welding practitioners Technical expertise support in the planning job scope outcomes in team groups. Support the development of work packs across all disciplines. Responsible for final review & sign off for client. Manage & suppost QC personnel & piping supervisors in the various roles required to be cover during shutdown period. Review planning & schedule strategies with the aim to improve efficiency outcomes through the working groups. Role includes participation in the shutdown working committee.

Work scope required 2 mths full time in Adelaide & 3 Mths in Gippsland areas. Inspected, monitored & reported production progress status on a range of manufacturing workshops contracted to the Vicorian Desalination Plant. Reviewed & verified all relevant Sub Contractors documentation necesssary to compile MDR prior to & for commissioning of plant sections.

Bass Strait Ktt Project

Employed as Quality Control Inspector during Pipe Lay of approx 77kms of Pipe line. Tasks ranged from inspection of new pipe to machining Weld preparations to fit up welding , NDE & monitoring the protective coating application & compliances. & compiling daily reports etc.

Iona Gas Plant Port Campbell Vic.

Managed or overseen all Quality aspect for the welding of pipe spools & auxillary structural members. Direct C10 supervision of pipe spooling on exotic materials. Supervised from the Gas Plant boundary 0.8km of laying, mapping, welding, NDE of 2 pipe lines up to pump stations then pipe line hook up to Offshore Sub sea Pipe line after pigging compliedGas Plant activities included the Coordination & planning of all NDE requirements. Compiled all weld maps & NDE records, traceability & punchlisting reports for commissioning & handover to Client representative.
