Lead developer (SQL/VBA/BI) and data architect within the IT PMO. Main tasks, to develop, manage and support all aspects of a OLTP and OLAP data management tool that is the single data source for all IT Programmes and Projects within Jaguar Land Rover, encompassing everything from governance to project status to project finances to project risks and issues. Tool is developed in an agile RAD environment using Microsoft Access as the user front end (ADP) and Microsoft SQL Server as the relational and main analytical back end. The developed tool has a global user base of over 450, has front end links to Sharepoint, automation to Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Microsoft Project. The back end is a full complex stored procedure development that has XML imports/exports to and from SAP and other external data sources. Back end database is also part of a SAP Business Objects Universe for production of some high level programme/project status reports, financial reports and dashboards to management via tableau and SAP BI. Other tasks within the IT PMO, data modelling of new business requirements, ETL of data from multiple sources, centralizing and normalizing data structures where feasible. The developed front end tool and back end database was originally designed to be a limited lifespan tactical tool from the outset but has now become an enterprise wide application with its data being used throughout this rapidly expanding business. Most recently the front end has gone through a major redevelopment into a lightweight disconnected application removing all previous dependencies of specific versions of office (32bit or 64bit), specific workstation OS's and specific SQL Server versions.

Working directly for the Infrastructure Manager and Applications Manager while they undergo business wide Windows 7, Office 2010 (Access 2010) and SharePoint 2010 implementation for some 4000 users. Tasked to analyze existing end user data, it’s content and it’s usage. Identify new data and reporting requirements. Create new centralized SQL data stores. Identify and convert business critical Access applications to client server structures, creating proof of concepts using Access 2010 and Access Services for SharePoint and using SharePoint 2010 to centralize Access applications and team data.
