I managed the delivery of Hard Facilities Management (FM) services using a 30 strong in-house team of civil and military engineers. My main objective on taking this role was to improve the delivery of Hard FM services and build a truly integrated team with a great reputation.Key Achievements:- Reduced maintenance response times for the Client; by improving supply chain procurement. - Wrestled £1.3M of investment funding from stakeholders to address infrastructure vulnerabilities. - Completed projects with a collective cost of over £5M.- Increased team morale and reduced barriers between military and civilian engineers.- Left JSSU estate in a better condition than receiving it; in respect to compliance, resilience and aesthetics.

I worked within a small specialist team as the electrical project engineer to manage the definition, design and delivery of infrastructure requirements for the RAF throughout multiple global locations. I delivered a range of airfield projects, as the PM and within the project team; involving all stages of the extended project life cycle.Key Achievements - Enabled the RAF to occupy and operate from a disused 1200 man camp overseas.- Produced comprehensive and full designs for electrical installations.- Enabled the RAF to store munitions within overseas ammunition compounds.- Increased electrical safety for service personnel operating overseas.

Musanah, Oman

I performed as Deputy Project Engineer during the final stages of the £65m British MOD Musanah Airfield Project. This involved the management and supervision of main contractors delivering discreet elements of the main project, including installation of a freight hangar, two passenger handling facilities, tarmac perimeter road, a 500-man domestic camp and fire hydrant pump system.I liaised with Royal Air Force Oman (RAFO) to plan, coordinate and obtain agreement for project works on the RAFO owned airbase. I supervised the set-up and implementation of a £5m Hard FM contract for the estate and managed the occupation of the camp upon delivery of the project.On completion of project handover, I remained in theatre for another 3 months as the Facilities Manager to assist occupation, manage snagging works, new requirements and rectify fault/design issues.

I was the military liaison between the Garrison (5000+ personnel) and DIO, responsible for new works requirements across 10 barracks in Germany, including domestic accommodation (single and married quarters), technical accommodation (vehicle garages, workshops, stores, warehouses), and support facilities (training wings, cinemas, medical facilities, schools, swimming pools).I maintained direct responsibility for the Incidental Minor New Works budget (€450k per year) and planned the delivery of infrastructure requirements by balancing need against cost options. I liaised with clients, budget holders and external agencies to identify and develop Statement of Requirements, budget and timelines for projected works. I maintained focus to ensure projects were delivered to meet end user needs, contributing to decision-making throughout the construction period, in terms of time, quality and cost.
