Business AnalystBusiness Analyst working on the Investment Platform, providing support for new development, change requests, defect triage, development and testing liaison. It is quite an in depth technical role where not only do I need to gain knowledge on the business processes and systems, I have also needed to familiarise myself with SQL query and script production and continued study towards my ISEB BA Diploma.

Business Analyst working in a large project based practice of an outsourced IT provider. I am currently engaged on the Pensions Auto Enrolment strand, specifically looking at the regulatory communications for this government initiative. This involves liaising with senior stakeholders within our client as well as interaction with key development and project staff of a major services provider. The role includes production of numerous documentation types based on the Friends Life Lifecycle (FPLC) methodology but also requires a flexible approach to meet the expectations of the supplier. I also briefed the test team and facilitated the relationship between them and the supplier as well as the end users who were performing the test process. Requirements elicitation is undertaken using a number of methods, including Workshop facilitation and one to one interviews undertaken with senior staff both face to face and via telephone conferencing as well as travel across the UK to visit other sites and suppliers. This was a particularly challenging role as the outsourced arrangement was only recently entered into, so an appreciation of moving targets was needed while processes and relationships were built. The company has an excellent approach to training and I have had the opportunity to study towards the ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis.

Business Analyst within a large Trust/Contract based Pensions Administration Company, attached to the Web Development team. Recent responsibilities include specifying and co-ordinating the release of a new telephone handling system and a Knowledge Database, working very closely with key stakeholders, Project Managers as well as development staff. The role required lots of problem solving, creating a development document, initial unit testing before handing on to test team testing and then obtaining final user acceptance sign off and overseeing the implementation and warrantee support. I was also required to travel to different JLT sites around the UK to discuss requirements and issues as well as to participate and contribute to Project Board meetings both face to face via telephone conferencing.

Business Analyst in a substantial and growing quoted financial services company, responsible for project managing smaller scale development projects for the development of new and amended computer system processes, covering all system types including database, administration and website. This involved talking to the business areas to design the new product based on their requirement and working closely with the development team to ensure the requirements were fully understood and met. Other duties included User and Access administrator for the main business system and deputising for the systems department manager. All tasks required a strict adherence and understanding of the vigorous Financial Services regulatory environment
