I both modified and created code. Changes, updates, modifications, and optimizations to legacy code was a common task. Much of the work I focused on was adding new functionality to existing code bases and creating new code bases for any new client we would onboard. I was involved with everything from estimation and planning, to development, UAT setup and testing, deployment, production support and training. In addition I created libraries and scripts to onboard clients and their data, production support scripts for the support teams that monitor the code bases, along with various scripts for reconciliation and validation.

I played a pivotal role in streamlining data access and administration, ensuring efficient management of databases, generating concise and informative reports, and helping any staff member having a technical issue accessing any of the tools created. Leveraging LWP (Libwww Perl), I accessed APIs through HTTP calls, validated the retrieved data, and updated various tables in several databases. The focus primarily revolved around financial data, encompassing overall transaction amounts, sales records, customer order information, credit card transactions (credit card data feeds were delivered differently and were handled a bit differently), and critically, inventories from the point-of-sale system to Amazon and vice versa. Given Amazon's stringent requirements regarding overselling and promptness for "prime" customers, precision and accuracy were paramount in the data flow. Data would flow in, undergo meticulous processing, and subsequently, Ecometry was updated to reflect the most current stock levels. Comprehensive reports were generated and sent back to maintain seamless synchronization and keep the Ecommerce platforms consistently up to date.As the e-commerce business experienced rapid growth, I assumed responsibility for managing the hardware infrastructure to meet escalating demands. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, I designed and implemented robust server solutions, effectively accommodating increased traffic and transaction volumes.Throughout my tenure, my dedication to excellence and innovative contributions supported Design Toscano's success in the competitive e-commerce landscape, and I took pride in being part of the team that drove the company's growth and reputation as a dependable online retailer.
