I have served the public around me for the last 30 years. I began as a volunteer with the rescue squad and moved on to a full time position with two city departments. While in those positions, I progressed to the fire officer level, haz mat technician, rescue specialist, fire and explosives investigator, Instructor and tactical medic. I also taught at the high school for the state Emergency Medical Responder certification course, for 11 years. I retired early to work in the private sector as an industrial paramedic, working with safety and health to provide classes and efforts to reduce risks in the industrial setting. I have my bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health. I now work for a Department of Energy subcontractor, teaching a wide range of OSHA safety classes and site specific courses. Some of those classes include confined space, lock-out tag-out, respiratory protection, and radiological safety. I also design and develop courses to meet DOE guidelines. I have interaction with Subject Matter Experts and hundreds of craft workers.
