About Gary Willment

COVID-19 has made each of us evaluate and plan for a different future. My background in Travel and Event Management has provided many adaptable skills which can be used beyond a return to a 'new normal'.All of my previous employment has been centred around clients / guests. The wellbeing of each and ever person is of paramount importance. Customer care and empathy is second nature. At Contiki I was promoted to different roles at their head office. Successful projects and roles include improved training and recruitment. By changing our interviews and re-focusing the training we improved staff retention, therefore saving money. Being part of the Crisis Management team and dealing with incidents. Relocating staff, knowing the logistics, liaising with emergency services. The ability to keep calm!Being based in London, managing up to 80 staff based at our sites in Europe was challenging. Communication was key to success. Showing strong leadership, but also empathy usually resolved most issues.Global Event Services specialise in events for the pharmaceutical industry. Organising meetings, conferences, incentive trips and product launches. Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance was essential. We secured business by working with preferred suppliers to drive prices down, presented the client with choice, and delivered each event to a high standard. This resulted in us becoming a preferred supplier. Securing quality and savings to our client, while guaranteeing work for our company. Product Development at Trafalgar a small dynamic team that creates new, and adapted existing trips through Europe. Our the aim to increase numbers and improve our guest experience while remaining competitively priced. Improvements came from acting on guest feedback as well as industry trends. Networking potential suppliers for great savings. These measures provided year on year increased guest numbers. The department also worked with web designers and brochure production in producing brochures for two products totalling over 130 trips. As a Travel Director (guide) I provide a high service of customer care, helping gain the trust of each guest. By providing clear verbal, written and visual information on each destination, I manage guest expectations. Where possible I go beyond what is required to enhance their trip. To encourage repeat business I put together memorable highlights from the trip on a video clip to share with the guests, plus company promotional materials. Many of my guests have returning to Trafalgar for future trips.
