Conducted International Political Economy research.Taught Introduction to International Politics, Political Economy of Climate Change, and International Political Economy.

Conducted research projects on 1) how political opposition to trade liberalization can most effectively be countered, 2) regulatory cooperation within multilateral trade agreements, and 3) the negotiation of sector-specific World Trade Organization (WTO) agreements such as the Information Technology Agreement (ITA) and the Environmental Goods Agreement (EGA).

Balanced doctoral research, teaching responsibilities, and graduate coursework in order to earn a Ph.D. This required attention to detail, initiative, critical thinking, and interpersonal communication skills.-Researcher Wrote a 320-page doctoral dissertation on how cross-national differences in regulation impede international trade and how governments negotiate over those regulatory barriers. Specifically examined regulatory barriers in the automotive, meat, and pharmaceuticals industries in the United States, the European Union, Japan, and India.This required managing and analyzing large amounts of information related to international trade, developing deep knowledge of American trade legislation and administrative regulations as well as trade politics in some of America’s key trading partners in the WTO and OECD, and required communicating research findings concisely via written and verbal means. Authored an article published in the Journal of World Trade on how regulations became central to international trade negotiations.Authored an article published in The World Economy on U.S. political parties and the making of American trade policy.Contributed a chapter on protectionism to an edited volume on international trade politics. Wrote 3 other articles on international relations that were also published in peer-reviewed journals.Wrote 9 grant proposals that collectively won $32,100 in external funding. Presented research at 19 academic conferences.-Teacher Taught a course on Global Trade Politics to 16 undergraduate juniors and seniors.Assisted professors in teaching courses on energy politics, international political economy, U.S.-Iran relations, and international relations.-Research Assistant Collaborated with professors to complete research projects ranging from a quantitative analysis of authoritarian regimes’ economic policies to an examination of environmental regulations.

Analyzed the economic impact of developing political issues ranging from hydraulic fracturing regulations to state budget deficits and the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act.
