My position as product manager – healthcare interoperability allows me the opportunity to apply my skills and expertise to define the ways in which the Brightree platforms adapt to embrace the new opportunities present in the connected healthcare ecosystem. This work began in July 2014 when Brightree joined the CommonWell Health Alliance as a contributing member. As the first member from the Post-Acute segment of healthcare, I represented Brightree within the Alliance and led the adoption of the correlated linking use case. This use case enables post-acute care organizations to benefit from the data sharing aspects of the alliance in advance of their first face to face encounter with the patient. The implementation of CommonWell services into the Brightree platform is complementary with a new electronic referral product offering which integrates direct secure messaging along with the ability to discreetly consume C-CDA style content within the patient intake process. In addition to healthcare standards based interoperability, I also manage several integration type products that bring efficiencies to our Brightree customers. These include supply chain management solutions based upon ANSI EDI standards as well as custom integrations based upon proprietary standards. Some of these latter style products allow our HME customer base to seamlessly integrate with systems operated by the manufacturers of Sleep Therapy devices.

My position as software engineering manager allows me the opportunity to apply my skills and expertise in several different roles within the Brightree organization. First and foremost, I manage multiple scrum teams that are responsible for expanding interoperability between the Brightree SaaS platform and our partners. In this capacity, my teams have • Established EDI standards that support integrated ePurchasing between Brightree customers and major medical suppliers. • Deployed solutions that allow HL/7 interoperability with external healthcare organizations. • Integrated a 3rd party document management solution into the Brightree platform. • Created an Audit Response system to allow our customers to electronically respond to Audit requests. I also serve as Product Owner for several different product lines that are primarily focused upon interoperability. As product owner, I assist and/or manage the partner relationship and engage with customers to gain a better understanding of their requirements. I work closely with Product Management which aligns with Marketing to translate their high level desires into actionable stories for development. As the originator of an externally accessible API, I routinely advise and consult with customers as they work to integrate the Brightree SaaS platform with their existing systems and processes. My extensive background working with nearly every significant technology platform in the past 30 years provides for strong credibility in these engagements, both amongst “C” level executives and with hands-on developers. This consulting continues throughout the development process and I have been fortunate to maintain longstanding working relationships with these customers. Finally, I serve on the architecture team and guide the future evolution of the core Brightree platform with respect to the inclusion of new technologies and framework’s.

Responsible for architecture and development of real-time API's for use by external partners.Engaged in collaborative development methodology, working closely with internal stakeholders.Provide daily technological leadership and mentoring support to staff of 12 developers.

· Responsible for all technology aspects within a small entrepreneurial focused software company.· Developed unique and innovative handheld data collection system with automatic server synch.· Cogent Technologies IP successfully acquired in February 2008 by South 49 Solutions.

· Responsible for technology strategy within dot-com startup with funding in excess of $30m.· Developed integration framework to enable partners to seamlessly integrate with our marketplace.· Provided technical leadership to a staff of 20, resulting in productivity increase of > 200%.

· Directed integration efforts as part of 18 month implementation of PM / PA systems in 2 hospitals.· Thought leader in the use of emerging technologies within the Emory Healthcare system.· Member of the Emory Healthcare Architecture Review Board.

· Created auto-routing paperless claims system to support requirements of Managed Health Care.· Created first of its kind single sign-on system that enhanced security and customer satisfaction.
