Leading a team of volunteers to ensure that we make a positive difference to the lives of young people.Since taking over the role, we have set goals and objectives as well as restructuring the management team to enable us to focus our efforts on specific channels. With a dedicated team focused on specific areas of delivery, we can provide better support to our volunteers and in turn deliver a great programme to change lives of young people making them better citizens and better prepared for the future.We are working to develop how we support Scouting in Humberside by:- Maintaining an open and honest approach in everything we do;- Providing better programme support for our volunteers to make their job easier;- Increasing the international opportunities for our young people;- Providing more adventurous activity by training more volunteers to be able to deliver these;- Focusing more attention on young leaders and how we develop them to become leaders of the future;- Encouraging youth involvement at all levels;- Making better use of and increasing utilisation of our residential and camping facilities.

My role iinvolved developing and leading a team of people to raise the profile of Scouting within Hull. This included building relationships with Hull City Council and local businesses. Our ultimate goal was to increase membership and give more young people the opportunity to be part of the biggest co-educational youth organisation. During the 5 years, we achieved the following:- Developed the previous 3 Districts into 1 combined District;- Opened 5 new groups;- Increased youth membership by 38.5%;- Increased adult volunteers by 16.5%;- Increased activity provision and encouraged wider participation;- Supported adults to deliver better programme to our members;- Gave our young people the best possible opportunities possible.

Working in the Commercial Systems team, with responsiblity for the service systems and processes used within the business. I was involved in training, system design, development, upgrades and day to day running of all service business related systems throughout the group.I was involved in projects such as business integration, divesting businesses, setting up new contracts, liaison with clients, managing expectations internally and externally. I was responsible for design, administration and integration of systems across two businesses serving many 'well known' clients.
