The very first tour every operated by Captain's Choice was a tour of Asia and Africa by privately chartered Qantas Boeing 767 in 1994. This tradition continues today although we now charter 747's for the same purpose.From the UK we started to experiment with smaller aircraft, initially 757's and later on Airbus A319's. Whilst in the UK, and later in Australia, I was involved with a wide range of aspects concerning these style of tours. It was at the same time that I was asked to develop a much higher profile for the APT brand in the UK in particular and to grow, develop and nurture this brand with direct consumers.
