I am a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator specializing in construction defect and other construction-related matters. I am also a partner with Kelley Kronenberg, serving as the Chair of the firm's Construction Law Division. A full-service law firm with 510+ employees, over 235 attorneys, across 20+ practice areas and the convenience of 17 locations throughout the U.S., it is one of the fastest-growing law firms in Florida and amongst the largest in the U.S. The firm serves all types and sizes of public and private companies, including small businesses and individuals nationwide. From the firm's Fort Lauderdale office, I practice throughout the state and federal courts of Florida, as well as in other jurisdictions, where I assist the firm's construction industry and insurance clients in all aspects of construction-related matters.Over 29 years ago I started out in the Miami-Dade County Public Defender's Office where I tried over 50 jury and bench trials. With that unique courtroom experience, I transitioned to civil litigation, working for Siegfried, Rivera, Lerner, De La Torre, & Sobel, a boutique lawfirm in Coral Gables, from 1998 through 2003, where I developed expertise in construction law, handling all types of project-related claims ranging from simple non-payment claims to complex delay and construction defect claims. From 2003-2008, I headed the Construction Law and Commerical Litigation Department at Kelley Kronenberg, where I cultivated and developed a following of construction industry and commercial clients. In 2006, I became Board Certified by the Florida Bar in Construction Law. From 2008-2014, I chaired the Construction Litigation Practice Group at Weiss Serota Helfman Pastoriza Cole & Boniske, P.L., a 50+ lawyer AV-rated firm with offices in Coral Gables and Fort Lauderdale, where I provided advice and guidance to the firm's many municipal and private construction clients. From 2014-2018, I was an integral part of a national Construction Practice Group at Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr, and in 2018, rejoined Kelley Kronenberg to chair its Construction Law Practice. I am also an adjunct law professor at Nova Southeastern University's Shepard Broad College of Law where I teach Construction Law.
