About Gary Ward, Ms, Mba

My life has mostly been about people, connecting people to their strengths and to ways to turn their weaknesses into strengths. Management, education, and guiding are all about getting people through a challenge. Leadership may mean letting others take charge; it may mean taking charge. It is not about control, it is about getting the job done and helping people shine along the way. As a teacher and a guide I have led hundreds of people through individual and team challenges. I have led many wilderness tours, helping hundreds of people shine as they accomplish goals. Since 2009, Coastal Bliss Adventures has increased direct company sales by over 20% per year, tripled our tour offerings since start-up, added instructional services and equipment rentals to our mix. In 2015, we expanded internationally with our JV company, Kilimanjaro Bliss Ltd. in Tanzania and will begin tours in Wales in 2019. In 2017, we opened our Cowichan Bay Kayaking and Adventure Centre to serve our local market better, and expanded into mobile food service with our Sea Dogs food cart, and now provide additional services to hiker groups on our coastal trails with Coastal Bliss Services. In a start-up, small business, each person does many things, from management to cleaning. My current projects include our Sea Dogs Mobile Food Service and Coastal Bliss Services.
