Consulted on business planning for two business ventures in Australia - a niche internet based cloud electronic vault and secure certificate system. Evaluated the market conditions to determine whether there was a viable market in Australia. Also investigated a franchise insurance model that would require a forward thinking software solution in order for it to be successful.> Conducted in-depth interviews with all stakeholders, both locally and in South Africa> Compiled reports for funders and management of the business, to suggest a model for Australia> Advised on business setup, day to day functioning, administrative setup, including auditing and legislative requirements> Advised on legal contract with international vendor> Established communication rapport between local and international participants

Headed up a greenfields project at Africanised Group (Consortium of South African and African businessmen in the business of oil commodity trading), which included building and supporting an entire ICT infrastructure. My brief was to put in place a complete solution encompassing, Wireless Network, Client Server Environment (virtual), Software Recommendations (accounting etc.) and Blackberry Enterprise setup. I was also responsible for vetting the required staff to ensure the on-going success and growth of the business. > Developed complete Group ICT start-up strategy, including all budgetary requirements> Identified strategic partnerships and suppliers, advised on specifics of requirements, negotiated pricing and instituted service level agreements with the various vendors > Responsible for communicating to board members and shareholders the chosen strategy

Launched an offering into the Least Cost Routing market, initially using traditional VoIP technology, moving to a next generation solution using virtual SIM technology. Instrumental in introducing Riverbed as a technology into South Africa, and part of the core team that started Rapid Technologies as a new venture together with a number of shareholders for the purpose of bringing a specialist WAN optimisation product, Riverbed Steelhead, into South Africa. Richmark Holdings (PTY) Ltd (company shareholder) is part of Blue Label Telecoms, a listed group, which incorporates the biggest mobile phone prepaid company in South Africa, Africa and operations in India.> Managed everyday service and operational duties within the company, including overseeing of financial and sales duties> Liaised and negotiated with American principals around Riverbed products, discounts, sales forecasts, terms etc.> Prepared all press release statements for internet and print. > Compile and manage budgets, prepare board packs, attend shareholder meetings, ensure profitability of Rapid Technologies and managed existing SLA’s, contracts and legal agreements

Enigma Business Solutions supplied bespoke software solutions to the financial and insurance industry. I won a major outsource contract for all software development and I.T infrastructure with Safrican Insurance Company (1 million principal members, 8 million total members). Clients included:> Standard Bank - South Africa’s 2rd largest bank – we designed, developed, implemented and maintained their Estate Agents Incentive Management Scheme> South African Dental Association – responsible for their Customer Relationship Management of all registered dentists throughout South Africa> Izwelethu Finance, Enigma was responsible for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of a micro-lending administration system, responsible for a total book of R19 million
