About Gary Coover

With 20+ years of experience in innovation and operations, I am passionate about transforming organizational chaos into operational efficiency that generates clear value for customers, investors, and partners. As the co-founder and COO of Superlayer, a venture studio building web3 consumer startups, I leverage my skills in strategy, process improvement, and leadership to drive the operational success of the Superlayer management team and fund, as well as to support the launch and growth of early-stage web3 projects. My primary focus is serving as the COO of Unite (a Superlayer portfolio company and web3 gaming infrastructure provider) as we work to bring rewarded mobile games to the web3 masses. Before joining Superlayer, I spent nine years at Samsung Next, the software and services innovation arm of Samsung Electronics, where I launched and scaled new investment vehicles and startup ecosystems globally, and served as the Ventures Operating Managing Director and Silicon Valley GM. I am also an active angel investor, startup advisor, and non-profit board member/advisor for the LT Murray Foundation, and HBM Oncology Foundation. I hold an MBA in Strategy from UC Berkeley - Haas School of Business and previously co-founded an ecommerce startup that was acquired in 2017.
