Engaged to lead a team of Project professionals to design and build highly secure infrastructures to support a high profile Government IT programme. Deploying the solution into brown field processing/manufacturing centres and multiple regional offices. Part of the original project team recruited to develop a ‘blank sheet’ design of the infrastructure and applications .Responsible for the:•Design and implementation of a secure network (IL5) working closely with Government Information Assurance and approved agencies•Design and implementation of the IT infrastructure into brown field central sites working closely with M&E and cabling contractors•Design and implementation of a fully resilient cross site environments making best use of virtulaisation technologies •Design and implementation of Management Intelligence system to support the roll out of the production solution•Management of the deployment of a bespoke solution into 7 Regional processing sites

Engaged as a senior project manager to lead a number of high profile new technology and transition projects within the organisationKey activities:• $20m budget responsibility and headcount of up to 10• SAN Infrastructure design and deployment into 2 new mega data centres • VMware infrastructure design and deployment into 2 new mega data centres• Design and implementation of a virtualization platform for server consolidation • Migration of Physical to Virtual (P2V) legacy servers/applications (resulting in the largest VMware farm in Europe at the time – 3000)• New data centre Exchange cluster deployments • Data centre closedown, managing the migration of applications and services to a new data centre• Design and implementation of a centralised, (load balanced) virtualised infrastructure to support the migration of existing global WSS (Sharepoint) services • Multiple SAN capacity uplifts

2001 Technical Service Director - £5m budget responsibility and a global headcount of 50.Gary was responsible for the relationship between the Global Operations, Information Systems (IS) functions and the rest of the organisation; managing the expectations of the global IS customers base for the continued support and upgrade of IS Services.Providing a single point of escalation into Global Operations, defining Information Systems Operational Strategy and major project resourcing for IS Operational implementations. Managing/directing the Global Production Support, Service, Project and planning groups to ensure the continued provision of service of production applications to agreed service levels. He was responsible for the adherence to IS Operational standards and procedures.1998 : Head of Operations Global IS - £7m budget responsibility and a European headcount of 65. Management of the Service Delivery and the Technical Support functions for Global Information Systems applications.Gary was responsible for the Technical design and Project Management of Operational infrastructure implementations and Business Continuity plans, programme managing a team of 10 project managers.
