    I joined the Toshiba team in 1986 at an integral point in the development of the mobile computer and this experience laid the foundation of my career in technology. After spending my first six months in Tech Support, I then segued into the engineering department where I eventually became head of the worldwide test & evaluation team for new products. Following my time in engineering, I then moved on to Product Planning where I created and implemented innovative, new ideas for mobile computers. After working my way up Toshiba’s corporate ladder, I eventually ran the Worldwide Product Planning team for mobile and desktop products for 7 years in addition to running the Global Sales & Marketing Departments. The Global Marketing & Sales team managed all Toshiba customer accounts that purchased in more than one country including accounts like Microsoft, Oracle, Bank Of America, British Petroleum, Goldman Sachs, etc. At Toshiba I helped develop and deliver many industry standards. One key technology I helped enable included Bluetooth. At Toshiba, I collaborated with Intel and Ericsson to develop and launch what became today's Bluetooth technology. This included helping start the Bluetooth SIG, running the first Worldwide Bluetooth Developer Forum and first to demonstrate Bluetooth technology at DemoMobile99. Also with the launch of the Toshiba Infinia Desktop line, I created the first USB device that shipped in the world with the Toshiba InTouch module. Toshiba was number one in sales & technology for portable computers worldwide all 14 years I was at Toshiba.
