Lead the Digital first transformation program for Aware encompassing a whole of fund transformation including Digital, business and technology. The program was a multi-year program which was successfully delivered and is providing large benefits to Aware’s members. The program delivered the following capabilities:• Moved the fund from 3 core administration platforms to 1 new platform (Sonata Alta) moving 1.1 million members and $150 Billion with the data migration.• Implemented new digital portals and Mobile apps with significant straight through processing and parcel tracker functionality. Aware has seen a significant uplift in members utilising the portals and mobile apps since going live.• Insourced administration and contact centre’s whilst moving to a value stream model. Hired and trained a new administration and contact centre workforce.• Implemented new Investment Products and moved the members to the new products as part of the migration to the new platform• Implemented new Insurance products and consolidated insurance with TAL, providing significant straight through processing between TAL and Aware• Implemented new Advice administration platforms, Digital portals, retirement calculators which are significantly benefiting our Advisors and members.• Created a Business Readiness function that encompassed Take to market, Change management, Risk, Member journey and process mapping transformation. The Payments Industry and RBS are going through a large transformation in the Payments area. The industry has Payments initiatives being initiated with PSD2, Future clearing model, Open Banking and associated work with Ring fencing. RBS has its own large transformation programs running in Payments to complement and innovate in this area to capitalise on the industry change.Gary was brought on to recover the largest Change the bank program and in the top 2 critical programs for the Bank in 2017. The programme had been Red for a number of months and was not delivering to mandated time frames. Key Responsibilities & Program dimensions:• Manage an integrated change, IT and multiple vendor teams with 600+ FTE across multiple international locations – UK, Manilla, India, Switzerland, Poland and Ireland.• Program has impacts on 45 platforms across the Bank, including Core Banking, Payments, Digital channels, Infrastructure, BI, Workflow, Settlements etc.• Program impacts all brands (RBS, Natwest, Ulster, Coutts) and all franchises (Personal, Private, Corporate, Investment Bank, wealth and RBS International). • Create a Portal for 80 Agency Banks, building an online and digital offering.• The business case involves program delivery and an ongoing operational contract and is the largest change the Bank program for 2017.• Programme reporting to the executive and Bank Wide Delivery Committee. • Attend the Industry Senior leaders group as the RBS representative.

The Transformation group was formed in 2015 to gain greater control and improve governance on the Bank’s transformation agenda and significant discretionary spend. As part of this group, the Investment and Restructuring Portfolio (I&RP) was set-up in order to develop and manage the Bank-wide portfolio of programs needed to deliver this change strategy. Gary was brought on due to his extensive executive and program management experience to build and roll-out the Operating model, methodology, processes and templates required to deliver a Program assurance function as a 1st line of defence for the Bank. My Key responsibilities were: ■ Develop and implement a bank-wide (RBS, NatWest, Coutts, Ulster Bank)Programme Assurance function to act as a 1st line of Defence.■ Conduct assurance reviews on the largest/complex programs that the Bank is running (~100M+) utilising program / transformation management experience to identify change delivery risks within the program. ■ Support executive/program sponsors and managers in mitigating identified change delivery risks, by engaging after the assurance to ensure development and implementation of actions plans that will enable successful program execution.■ Review all Bank wide Investment Briefs before they go to Exco Investment committee, to provide input/guidance into changes required. Includes Personal, Private, Commercial and Investment Banks.■ Generate insights on bank-wide change delivery roadblocks, and make proposals to relevant bodies (e.g. Exco Delivery Committee) to address those roadblocks.■ Provide expert guidance on delivery and change methodology for the Bank, including input on AGILE, DevOps, P3M, Investment process and Portfolio management.
