Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, I have lost two of my four part time jobs in my "retirement" years. I was laid off from Louisville Slugger Museum as a tour guide and with no fans in the stands at baseball games, my tour hosting duties were not needed for Big League Tours. I have had some exciting and rewarding experiences in my life. I have been invited into people's lives at some of their best and worst times. I've been the first person outside of the family to see and hold a new baby and the last person with someone taking their final breaths. I have helped save someone's life by giving them CPR and I have convinced a suicidal person with a knife to put it down and be taken to the hospital. I have been pepper sprayed and tazed (training only) and I have driven a police car at high speeds. While in college, I worked in the press box at Riverfront Stadium and was there almost every game in 1976 when the Big Red Machine won the World Series. I have traveled to Israel twice, to Haiti twice and to Honduras. I stayed at the same job for 30 years and saw all three of my children finish in the same school system in which they started. I dabbled in politics and was elected to the Sellersburg Town Council for a four year term. I have been a tour guide at Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory and a tour host for Big League Tours. Some of my writings have been published and via a live feed, my sermons could be seen and heard anywhere in the world on Sundays or watched on YouTube later in the week. I have friends around the world and at the end of any day, I can look back and know that I am blessed.
