VAST POWER Systems is a late stage start up RD&D technology company in pollution control & energy efficiency.VAST is an acronym, not an arrogant mission statement. It stands for "Value-Added Steam Technologies"™ and is a patented combustor and cycle for combusting fossil fuels in a cleaner, more efficient and controlled manner. Applications range from Distributed Generation/Combined Heat and Power (DG/CHP) energy systems to brownfield remediation to oil spill clean-up to Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR). A major initiative until 2014 was using VASTech™ to raise steam for injection into oil sands and/or mature or heavy oil wells as part of an EOR process. The current focus is on developing the VAST® FastRamp™ Turbine to "Enable the Renewable Revolution" by providing backup power for solar or wind microgrids. Our quick start/no pollution/higher efficiency achieved by using our patented VAST Power Cycle offers significant advantages in a rapidly growing market.VAST owns Intellectual Property (IP) covering VASTech. We are focused on industrial applications, not residential, consumer or transportation applications. VAST is pre-revenue, pre-product but has filed over 140 patent filings and obtained over 60 issued patents worldwide. VAST has retained over 30 patents (half in the USA + half overseas). VAST's IP is of high quality, containing over 65 independent claims + over 1,100 dependent claims and focuses on fundamental science and method more than apparatus. This is a good patent portfolio for a small firm. The importance of some of our key patents is reflected by the more than 1,800 forward citations they've received. One of our fundamental science of combustion patents has been cited 103 times. Fewer than 2% of all patents are cited 100 times & several of ours have over 100 forward citations. These citations are good indications of technical importance & current commercial relevance. There are 17 core patents that are our "products," We are seeking strategic partners.

As co-founder some 30 years ago and recently Chairman of the Board after being off the board for a period of time, I have enjoyed helping this service organization increase its significant contributions to various organizations serving the cause of the Lord Jesus Christ in communities of need worldwide. Term limits required me to step off of this board for at least one year.

Morgan Aircraft was a aeronautical high tech start up designing and commercializing a vertical take-off and landing business plane and derivative surveillance drone line using patented airframe and control technology. Their byline says it all: "fly anywhere". I served as a member of the Board of Advisors until February, 2013 when I was asked to join two other members to serve as an interim CEO Committee. In August, 2015 I became the sole member of the committee. In December, 2015 we voluntarily put the firm into Wis. Chapter 128 - Receivership. It's a pity, because it was very good, ground-breaking technology. Our first patent has already been cited 66 times! Someone will use the technology, but unfortunately, it won't be us...

Failed start up hedge fund specializing in USA listed small stock sector longs selected by alpha filters with ETF shorts to hedge beta. Reason for failure: couldn't raise enough assets and the emergence of ETFs as an investment vehicle "ate our alpha". Too bad, but it happens.

On board of Advisors from 1991 - 1996 when I became a partner helping take this securities options market-maker's technology into the international marketplace, primarially Japan. I also was in Business Development where I helped source the personnel to launch a new division of the company. I also helped negotiate the sale of a portion of the firm's equity by serving on the calling team with the firm's founder & Chairman when presenting the firm to potential conterparts in Tokyo, Japan as well as being a member of the drafting team for the IPO documentation & pitchbook. The firm was sold to Goldman Sachs in 1998.

As the first Managing Director of GLOBEX, I helped lead a complex technology joint venture between CME, Matif, CBOT & Reuters to its successful launch of the first 24-hour, around the globe automated trading system for some of the world's leading financial products. Today it is the leading electronic trading system in its class in the world, through which almost all of the world's futures contracts and options on futures are traded.

Helped found and grow a significant proprietary market-making firm operating in the arena of exchange-traded futures, securities and options. Group also became a primary dealer in US government securities. Operated worldwide. One of the world's leading designers and manufactures of cellular telephone antennas. Also designed a world class chip for storing speech for low cost, very high density replay. Attending board meetings in Tiberias, Israel was fun. Negotiating with potential counterparts for selling a portion of the firm as part of our expansion into China was not, as those negotiations took place in China while jet-lagged.

Helped research, staff and deploy this Los Angeles-based firm's first venture into arbitrage in the futures markets of Chicago, New York & London.

This is where I learned to work long & hard. (It took me awhile longer to learn to work smart!) We ran 10,000 mink in the summer and were among the larger fur farms in the USA in the 1950 - 1968 time period. I started out as unpaid slave labor and ended up as co-owner and manager.
