Having originally provided some advice pre-launch, I was invited by the Chairman to work with the Leadership team to review the company's positioning and strategic focus, recommending actions in a report for the Co-Founders and the Governing Board. My report included recommendations on the operating model, improvements to business financial analysis, and suggested a realignment across resources, opportunities and investment to maximise their effectiveness and impact.

Selected to manage balance sheet allocation and optimisation for Trading & Flow Sales and Financing & Risk Solutions, I took on the Front Office Risk function as Head of Resource Management. With detailed analysis of trading risk and performance, I delivered RWA reductions through the exit of historic portfolios and risk positions, with an active portfolio risk management trading overlay. Then, in 2021, following a series of reorganisations, I was invited by the CEO to address underperformance and deliver strategic change for the FI trading platform, overseeing 90 traders based in Asia, Europe, the UK and US.

I oversaw a total team of 200 globally as well as managing in-country treasury and funding teams for exit countries in CEEMEA and APAC.

I was promoted in under 12 months to run the global business through trading hubs in Stamford, CT, London and Singapore with a strong onshore presence in both CEEMEA and Asia. In 2013, I took on the operational management of trading businesses across policy implementation, regulatory change and culture, with regulatory oversight of the prime and clearing business incorporating futures, FX prime and rates clearing. I also became Head of the run-off and recovery business within Markets, including all legacy assets / portfolios as well as non-core derivatives portfolios.

My remit was to coordinate all interest rate-related activities for non-G11 trading, including banking books, liquidity management, derivative and government bond trading. I headed both trading hubs and local treasuries, directing 170 traders in 33 countries, then in 2005 extending this remit to EM FX and EM Credit trading.

Singapore & Tokyo

Selected to lead medium-term interest rate trading activities throughout Asia Pacific, including vanilla interest rate and currency derivatives as well as complex options across G11 and local currencies. I created the trading infrastructure for derivatives in Singapore and set up our onshore trading activities in India, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand. In addition, I built a regional risk management hub in Singapore and drove the further development of existing derivative trading activities in Tokyo and Sydney.

Joining the six-month rotational graduate training scheme, I worked in Banking and Capital Markets, Asset Management, Corporate Finance, Treasury & Trading, and Venture Capital. Then spent six months on the LIFFE exchange as a broker before becoming a pit trader, executing client orders. I later moved to the derivatives desk as a Trading Assistant, working on short-end Swaps and FRAs in USD and GBP STIRT, and managing USD, CAD and JPY swap and option books.
