Managed various projects including defining a Global Network Strategy, VOIP On Prem, Global Conferencing Transition and Obsolesce Planning on the network estate. Achievements during this phase include:-• Signed off Global Network Strategy for JLR, and communicated back to Stakeholders• Analysis of End of Life / Support infrastructure equipment, and implement planning cycles to refresh end of life / support equipment.• Within the Tactical Network Portfolio supply the coaching and guidance to project managers on the various tactical network projects. • Managed from RFQ to Transition end the migration of Web & Audio Conference services from BT to Vodafone.

Managed several Service Optimisation projects in conjunction with TCS, including HPOV rollout across the server estate and setup of the off-shore Integrated Command Centre. Additional to this also assured the SIEM implementation and setup off-shore of Security Operations Centre, plus the implementation of a Managed Print Service through the JLR UK sites.

Worked on driving the Outsource Programme towards Service Commencement Date, then once delivered took on several technical towers and progressed them to Tower Take On. Achievements during this period include: -• Driving the project team towards Service Commencement Date• Analysis and feedback on each of the tower Knowledge Transfer Plans• Implementation of a tollgate process in order to test TCS ability to Take On Service within each tower• Implementation of the governance around the off-shoring of the various helpdesks, including Dealer Support• Chair on the various Toll Gates and final go-live meetings• Facilitated the successful transition to TCS of the End User Service, Intergrated Service Desk, Network and Data Centre Towers to TCS.

Managed various outsourced initiatives, these projects include the Application and Testing Outsource, and the Travel & Events Global outsource. Achievements include:• Working close with HR leading up to consultation and during consultation periods to maintain the timeline and communicate progress to senior stakeholders.• Management of the full RFI / RFP Process for the procurement of application development services globally.• Worked with multi cultural project team over spread over several time-zones.• Produced differing levels of communications toward various audiences within IB, including senior management.• Worked with Senior Management on producing the various board papers for vendor contract sign off.

After the successful outsource and transition of Data & Voice to Cable&Wireless, Gary moved on to the larger outsource of IT Operations within Legal & General, delivering the following to the Programme :- * Due Diligence with two selected suppliers * Definition of the Service Schedules (Pre Contract Signature) with two suppiers* Service Commencement Readiness (the preparation and activities planned and executed for service take on by IBM and the transfer of staff)* Overview of the ISEC Security Review by IBM* Solutioning of the IBM GSNI to connect Legal & General and IBM Networks together for Operational support (Post Contract Signature)After the transfer of service to IBM, Gary was then assigned to Project Assure the main elements of the Data Centre Migration from Kingswood to IBM North Harbour, these included:-* Project Assurance on Data & Application Migration including the full software Discovery of the Legal & General Estate, reporting on progress and quality of data. This included looking at the risk around the various solutions on the migration planning and providing input into the final solution.* Project Management of the B2B Circuits from Kingswood to IBM North Harbour, engaging the Business Partners (Nationwide, Northern Rock, Santander, Yorkshire Building Society, etc), in order to communicate, and plan the data centre circuit moves.* Gary sat on the Executive Boards for the Migration Event weekends monitoring progress and providing go / no decisions at various check points and reporting progress back to Legal & General Directors/Stakeholders.

Acted as Transition Manager, interfacing and driving Cable&Wireless through the various deliveries. Achievements include:* Worked closely with Cable&Wireless provider, multiple third parties and internal teams in a matrix environment.* Led project planning, scheduling, controlling and reporting activities, ensuring that comprehensive project, quality, and risk plans are prepared and maintained and issues are actively managed through to their successful resolution.* Delivered effective communication to all interested parties including stakeholders and Senior Managers to support effective decision-making and managed the smooth and integrated delivery of projects.* Manage third party relationships ensuring that dependencies are identified and managed and deliverables are achieved, as defined in the project’s plan and without incurring unnecessary cost or delay to the project.* Determined, monitored, and reviewed all project economics, including costs, staffing requirements, project resources, and project risk, ensuring that there are appropriate and effective governance arrangements.

Responsible for the management of the Voice & Data Outsource to Cable&Wireless:-* Communication to Stakeholders / Directors within Legal & General* TUPE of staff to Cable&Wireless - including coordinating all the communications to inscope staff* Oversee of the commercial contract between Legal & General and Cable&Wireless* Definition and documentation of the Service Schedules which underpinned the commercial contract (SLA definitions etc)

Responsible for the management of the 1000 Day Programme (IT Currency Programme) within IT:-* Planned and delivered Project(s) to budget timescale and specification ensuring customer satisfaction and value for money. Worked in Sweden (Stockholm), Netherlands (Amsterdam), Spain (Madrid), Germany (Frankfurt) and USA (LA) with various telco’s, either working on infrastructure standardisation projects when new telco’s where merged or worked on selected outsourcing of various support departments to Fujitsu Europe.
