About Gary Hunter, Ph.D.

Dr. Hunter has held the FNC Founders Chair in Marketing and Data Analytics at the University of Mississippi since July 2020. He has a Ph.D. in Marketing from the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and more than 10 years of experience in marketing, operations, and sales management positions at P&G, PepsiCo, and the U.S. Army. His core research competencies are sales technology, sales leadership, and sales analytics, where he publishes and disseminates cutting-edge knowledge and solutions for the marketing and sales disciplines. He has published multiple articles in top-tier journals and received three awards for sales research publications(the AMA Excellence in Sales Research, the Comer Award, and the Jolson Award) for publication quality and impact. Professor Hunter has also designed and taught innovative courses and curricula that prepare students for dynamic and competitive marketing and sales professions.
