As campus minister, I performed various roles in my five years. ADMINISTRATION // I planned and coordinated all events, services, and activities for a dynamic college ministry to two university campuses (Texas Tech University and Lubbock Christian University). I also coordinated hiring, training, management, and spiritual care of campus ministry staff, working to equip and enable students to do the work of the church. Additionally, I worked as an integral part of a larger church staff with administrative decisions, vision, and team dynamics. LEADERSHIP // As the director of campus ministry, I set vision and mission for ministry alongside elders, deacons, staff, and students. In the midst of my time there, from 2019-2021, we 're-planted' the campus ministry, diving deep into our past history and investigating deeply current student pains and needs in order to envision and make steps towards a flourishing future for the ministry. As part of this effort, I also led an envisioning process, a re-branding process, and worked to create new innovative events, retreats, and mission engagements to strengthen community and invite students into deeper engagement with Christ for the sake of the world. CARE AND FORMATION // The primary goal of all of the above work was the care and empowerment of college students to live lives of purpose on the path of faith in Jesus Christ. As part of this role, I preached, taught, and provided engaging discipleship content for students at all events. Foundational to my approach and calling is "one-on-one" discipleship, in which I actively listen and care for students in the midst of the craziness of their lives. Listening presence, spiritual guidance, and when appropriate, wise coaching made up much of my days and priorities.

Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area

- Designed and implemented curriculum for all adult small group classes- Trained and coordinated both new and experienced bible class teachers- Ministered in diverse pastoral care situations, including the nursing home, court room, physical therapy clinics, and in hospice care- Preached, taught, and developed content for myself and others to deliver to small and large groups- Worked on a committee of church members who oversaw the administration and direction of much of the life of the church

Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area

- Managing a large database system of agricultural rescue and distribution by cataloguing and updating database on food donations and distributions- Establishing networks of relationships with farmers, non-profits, and volunteers through gleaning and salvage efforts to fight food scarcity in low-income homes- Co-leading job interviews, hiring, and training of new employees- Helped coordinate volunteer events on farms to "glean" food for food insecure families- Designed and created digital media for reporting and recruitment- Led and spoke at events for youth in order to educate and inspire young people on the topic of food waste and food insecurity in America

As part of the Duke Divinity School Field Education, I was placed at this church to learn and to serve in any way possible, including:- Ministered to young families from the hospital to the class room- Designed and taught curriculum on spiritual disciplines for a small group- Planned and led a day retreat on spiritual disciplines for young families- Organized and led worship, including preaching

- Ministered to youth (7th-12th grade) as they transitioned to a new youth minister- Planned and led a mission trip to a Native American outreach in Arizona- Created Sunday morning bible class curriculum and equipped parent leaders

- Managed and discipled a group of interns to plan and implement weekly worship- Ministered to college students through preaching, teaching, and one-on-one time- Organized and co-led both domestic and foreign mission work, as well as retreats- Developed media (videos, images, documents) for both worship and advertising

Jackson, Tennessee Area

- Ministered to teens through intentional one-on-one discipleship relationships- Created and taught follow-up bible class on church history for teens- Preached during summer guest speakers series

Georgetown, Tx

- Co-planned and facilitated a youth mission trip to a children’s home- Constructed bible class curriculum and a week-long class for Lubbock Christian University’s ‘Encounter’ Summer Camp- Ministered to teens through planned events and informal relationships
