(SGI) led all food banking operations for a 115,000 square-foot facility including program development, relationship building, fundraising, food distribution, warehouse operations, food resourcing, financial management, media and public relations. Territory grew to include twelve counties in central and northern California including the Sacramento region with a population base exceeding 2.3 million people.Key Accomplishments:• Restructured entire food banking operations; formalized programs and initiatives, and fundraising efforts resulting in an 83% increase in revenues over the first two years; 130% over three years.• Increased food distribution from 6 million pounds per year to 8 million pounds per year during a period of severe drought when millions of pounds of produce were no longer available.• Took SGI from a one star rating on Charity Navigator to three and one-half stars (average rating).• Increased SGI territory from eight counties to twelve counties.• Established collaborative partnerships with seven regional Feeding America Food Banks.• Added 40% more grocery stores to the Store Pick-up Program.• Increased agency partners from 120 to more than 200.• Recruited key community members to join the Board of Directors.• In addition to the SGI membership program added more than 3,000 corporate volunteers.• Partnered with the only adult-serving charter school in California that trains Class A drivers, certifies forklift operators and mechanics. In return they provide truck drivers and forklift operators as staff for SGI as well as servicing all equipment at no cost.• Founded innovative program called Adopt-A-School that provided food to Robla School students.

Key Accomplishments:• In just its second year, FASD met its five year business plan goals becoming the largest distributor of donated food in San Diego County channeling 13 million pounds of emergency food to people in need.• The San Diego Business Journal reported FASD as being the ninth largest nonprofit in the area (excluding medical related nonprofits) with gross revenues of $24.5 million dollars (includes the value of food) in its first full year of operations.• Became one of the fastest growing food banks in the United States distributing 333% more pounds of food than its inaugural year. • Agency membership grew to more than 150 partner agencies. • Volunteer program logged over 20,000 volunteer hours in its second year of operations.• Created the 16th largest Backpack Program and second only Farm2Kids Program in the U.S. • Established a national model for the Store Pick-up Program for Albertsons grocery chain.• Formed a highly influential and effective Board of Directors which included representatives from ConAgra Foods, Kroger, and Chicken of the Sea.• In response to the 2007 San Diego wildfires, singlehandedly coordinated the distribution of 516,000 pounds of emergency food and supplies to evacuees, firefighters and volunteers. • As a result of our fire relief efforts, the Mayor of San Diego Jerry Sanders was quoted saying, "The City of San Diego thanks Feeding America San Diego for their fast action and great work during the recent wildfires.
