Consulting Controller for Non-Profit organizations

Led the finance control and reporting functions for the Wealth Management America businesses. Ensured bank accounting polices were adhered to for both US GAAP and IFRS reporting. Supported one-off transaction analysis and provided oversight to the loan serving and deposit taking businesses. Enhanced accounting and operational processes and performed on-going SOX and internal control reviews to strengthen overall control environment resulting in > $3 million in savings. Supported the business and CFO functions in forecasting / planning and in Regulatory and CCAR submission accuracy and completeness.

Led finance function for the disposal of unwanted assets for the Americas. Managed communication and transactional support of the de-risking strategy; oversaw risk and valuations of positions including being the main interface with local regulators and audit. Required extensive global coordination to ensure all analyses were balanced and with high integrity.

Held several roles with increasing responsibilities culminating in heading the Equity Division finance function in the Americas. These progressive roles provided a platform to strengthen the global reporting functions within the business and finance; enhanced the internal controls over trading PnL and risk reporting including the accounting close process; recruited, mentored and developed accounting team of 90 globally while significantly enhancing business partnering relationships within the region.

Accountable for the financial close and internal control environments for the above two businesses. Global coordinator of Global Transaction Bank’s euro 30 billion balance sheet and led discussions with potential buyers on the America’s portion of the Global Securities Services asset sale.

Pre-Deutsche Bank acquisition of Bankers Trust in 1999. Reported to the CFO of the Global Transaction Bank. Led business and operations finance functions. Enhanced overall control environment relating processing errors and led multiyear cleanup of legacy items.

Accountable for all activities associated with enhancing and reporting on the profitability of the business. Annual revenue in excess of $75 million. Identified new product offerings for the holding of 3rd party escrow balances relating to asset and mortgage backed structured securities which increased revenue by > $ 2 million annually.

Director of Treasury Cash Management 1989 - 1995 Directed the Company’s cash management operations, including liquidity management, S/T investment portfolios and borrowing facilities. Travellers Cheque float > $2 billion and Treasury cash management flows > $10 billion annually.Manager of Funding and Financial Analysis 1986 – 1989 Designed cost of funds, leverage, funding requirements and asset/liability matching analyses to minimize funding costs and related risk. Created and managed initial funding strategy for the Optima Card launch. Assisted in developing investment strategies that maximized income and liquidity for theTravellers Cheque portfolio. Manager of Financial Standards & Projects – Corporate 1984 – 1986 Evaluated impact of new & proposed accounting releases based on dialogue with FASB, SEC and AICPA.

Accountable for the monthly close and reporting of several business units of the company. Worked on the 10 Q and annual reports for the company at large.
