Gary KH Huang, MBBCh DPhil MSc FAAAAI, is an executive medical director and compound clinical lead of Research and Development at the Immunology Therapeutic Area of Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine. A Rhodes Scholar with a global footprint, Gary completed his master and doctoral research at the University of Oxford in immunology. Clinically, Gary practiced immunology, allergy, and internal medicine following his training at the University of the Witwatersrand, Einstein Philadelphia, Children's Hospital of Pennsylvania, and the University of Pennsylvania. He was the founder and director of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology clinics, and Assistant Professor, of the Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Huang's academic research in immune-mediated diseases was funded and awarded by the Wellcome Trust, American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, and James Martin 21st Century School. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and has published prolifically in prominent journals, including Nature Communications and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Since 2017, Gary works on the early and late clinical development of immunology and inflammatory diseases, including dermatology, rheumatology, and gastroenterology at Bristol-Myers Squibb and Johnson & Johnson. Gary is an inclusive, agile, and passionate leader of people and matrix teams, he shaped an effective clinical team, cross-functional team, community of practice (for the clinical leads) and collaborated broadly with investigators and thought leaders. Excel in delivery and innovation, Gary led the successful readout of two pivotal Phase 3 trials, two Phase 1, one Phase 2b, and one Phase 3b trials.
