Gary Koch is currently the Branch Head for Code 53631/32, C2 Multi Domain Architecture &Engineering, Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific. A phenomenal group of highperforming, highly aggressive, product owners, network, systems, and geospatial engineers thatwork out of NORAD USNORTHCOM (N-NC) J6 at Peterson SFB, CO responsible for the operationsand maintenance of the N-NCs Command and Control Systems (C2S) and management of theSituational Awareness Geospatial Enterprise (SAGE) and the Air Event Information Sharing Service(AEISS). The branches also work in various locations and support the USSPACECOM C4/IT Buildoutproject with research, development, design, and installation of command, control,communications, and computers information technology (C4IT).All N-NC work utilizes the Unclassified and Classified Global Command and Control System(GCCS) -J as a track database source which selectively publishes dynamic track data into ageospatial environment and other SA and C2 systems. To accomplish this, the GCCS client uses aweb folder plug-in to publish the selected tracks directly to an open standard database, which canthen be consumed by other ecosystems and environments. The enterprise is an extremely valuableand powerful ecosystem in and of itself that quickly and easily scales, morphs, and incorporatesnew features, customers, and partners. It is ubiquitous and tolerant to change. SAGE’s platformecosystem is open so it can work with complementary technologies / constantly expands existingcapabilities and adds new ones. It is agile & “plastic” enough to respond to new opportunities forthe User Defined Operational Picture (UDOP) employed at N-NC, several COCOMs, and multipleInteragency partners including DHS.Gary previously served in the Marine Corps for 26+ years as both an enlisted avionics technicianand an infantry officer. He graduated from The Citadel in 1986 with a BS in Electrical Engineeringand graduated from Naval Post Graduate School in 1998 with an MS in Information TechnologyManagement. He transitioned to NIWC PAC and has worked embedded at NORAD andUSNORTHCOM for the Navy over 20 years.Gary has been married for over 31 years and he and his lovely bride, Carolyn, enjoy 7 grown childrenand their families which include a total of 11 grandchildren. We rejoice in the blessings that wehave received from serving our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, and look forward to spending eternitywith Him!
