It is with great sadness that G.A.F. Seelig, Inc., a family owned, food-service distribution company has closed its doors after 147 years in business. It was a great ride!Prior to joining G.A.F. Seelig I formed a software company that specialized in a complete software package for food industry manufacturing and distribution. In rolling this out, over a decade, I met with C-suite executives, managers and staff of over 100 companies to listen, and learn, what their challenges were. What I learned was that whether small or large, there was a remarkable similarity in the problems faced and solutions found. In my former role, as CIO, I believe the one thing that has the greatest impact on any organization is when its leaders listen. Listen to everybody; your customers, your suppliers, your employees.
