About Gary Curtis
My focus has been in the area of corporate taxation and more recently in the areas of high net worth individuals and their businesses. However, a significant part of my career has been devoted to the transactional space. A significant portion of my career has been devoted to dedicated practices in mergers and acquisitions in the Big 4 firms beginning in Dallas in the area of troubled debt restructurings continuing in dedicated tax merger and acquisitions practices. In those practices I was responsible for overseeing tax due diligence and structuring services involving private equity and strategic investors of all sizes including large multi-national companies. Industries served include real estate, technology firms, and manufacturing. Clients rely on my experience in individual, general corporate, S-corporation and partnership tax planning, transaction structuring and due diligence, multi-state and international tax consulting, tax accounting methods and periods, accounting for income taxes (ASC 740) and executive compensation. Involvement in numerous transactions and restructurings has exposed me to numerous complex issues and the related problem solving skills that have developed are something that my clients highly appreciate. They also appreciate my ability to communicate complex tax issues and transactional tax issues in easily understood terms. I also do not lose sight of the need for compatibility of tax structure with the more important business issues of a day to day business or a transaction. I am also highly involved in my client's tax compliance issues to minimize exposure, cash taxes and to ensure that tax planning is properly reflected in the various federal and state tax filings.
