Led the cross-organizational strategic planning and publication of the Army Business Mission Strategy. The Strategy allowed the Army's Chief Management Officer to establish goals and provide direction across the $30 billion enterprise of business type operations including more than $2 billion of information technology expenditures. My specialty was utilizing years of military planning experience in concert with business acumen acquired from formal education (MBA), self-study, and learning from industry experts to consider present and future possibilities to create long-term strategy and operations plans for the Army. Listening to business and Big Data experts at conferences & symposiums and reading publications about the importance of data and analytics in the future enabled me to write and get approval for a future Army capability called Enterprise Decision Analytics. This capability, once fully implemented, will allow the Army to make strategic level to operations level decisions with a full understanding of resource (human resources, financial, and beyond) costs in real-time. This capability will provide objective analysis for decision-makers from strategic to operational and even tactical levels. ☞ Provided subject matter expertise in a variety of disciplines including business analytics, project management, appropriations law, organizational development, and business process management (including re-engineering and continuous process improvement). ☞ Conducted professional development sessions about strategic planning and individual development. Using the Gallup® StrengthsFinder® methodology, led a professional development session and ongoing personal development discussions to help leaders and individuals to fully realize their Top 5 Strengths and consider education and experiences to build upon them and grow.

After selecting me as his speechwriter and serving for three months, the Lieutenant General commander of the organization designated me as the US Only strategic planner responsible for coordinating NATO Training Mission equities of the near-term and long-term operational and organizational plans to achieve US and NATO planning efforts. Led the most challenging planning effort to determine US force sizes at National Security Council directed capacities while also determining the size and capability of Afghan National Security Forces within designated funding levels.

Responsible for the coordination of Army Headquarters support to Northern Command combatant command and North American Aerospace Defense Command. Coordinated homeland defense assets and planned for future requirements in context of total Army equities.

Selected to serve in colonel level Chief of Plans position as a major. Strategic mindset combined with skill to analyze a multitude of information ensured 8th Army equities were clear and ready for the four-star commander to convey military operational requirements to senior decision-makers from the Army to the White House. Facilitated the Republic of Korea Joint Staff creation of a joint-level planning staff and instructed staff on doctrinal implementation of US planning methodologies. Responsible for the US-ROK planning efforts for combined operations under current, US-led, and future, ROK-led, war. Directed the US and ROK Army, land combat, planning efforts for potential future ROK-led ground operations.
