About Gary Mckenzie

Throughout my career at GEICO, my strength has always resided in taking deeply-thought-out approaches to creatively solving the most complex problems while maintaining a superior level of product quality and service. The extensive analysis and outsized effort this demands has paid off in higher profits and reduced costs in divisions under my management, and in my own advancement within the company.Currently, as Vice President of Claims Home Office, I apply this successful methodology to the pivotal task of reimagining and inventing end-to-end digital functionality in the historically manual and laborious world of property and casualty claims.Previously, as Vice President of GEICO’s Southeast Region, I turned four straight years of underwriting losses prior to my arrival into four straight years of profitable growth while being responsible for 1.1 million policyholders, 2,500 associates, and over $3 billion in premium annually. With three Master’s degrees - in Business Administration, Leadership, and Management Information Systems respectively - I’ve built a solid and broad educational foundation that continues to expand. My passion for learning has been fueled by a commitment I made long ago to be a student at least one night a week for the rest of my life.My personal motto is, “Be bold, and create a bigger, more beautiful future.” I take pride in hard work, setting the example, making good things happen, delivering superior results, and leading change fearlessly. No matter what, we can always find a way. Values I hold dear include authenticity, compassion, courage, optimism, and integrity.I appreciate the opportunity to connect.
