As Environmental, Health, Safety and Maintenance Manager I drive a positive culture in all these areas across a mix of directly employed and sub contracted staff in office, factory and site based environments. By tracking all KPI’s and ensuring thorough investigation and corrective action for all significant near miss reports and following any accidents, we ensure that re-occurrence is avoided. In and around the manufacturing facility, compliance of all statutory inspections is tracked including compliance to SSIP safety accreditation. Day to day I manage the operation of all site maintenance utilising both in house and contract engineers. This includes the breakdown of facilities or manufacturing equipment as well as PPM. I have responsibility for the budget in these areas as well as H&S training needs, PPE and workwear usage.Identifying process inefficiencies and continuous improvement opportunities across the business is also key, investigating alternative options in technology or systems, costings and presenting to the Board for approval. This includes monitoring our machine data collection system, ensuring energy consumption is as low as possible and that we are contracted to the best providers, compliance to environmental agency permits and managing all site recycling.

Responsible for technology within the wood process Department of Fife Joinery Manufacturing a Division of The Velux Company. Responsibilities Include Project planning from floor plans in CAD to full installation and testing, Technical production support,continuous improvements, a member of the safety excellence committee,(contractor induction, Isolation of machinery and accident investigation) Management of planned TPM maintenance schedules within the department. I also join colleagues from technology support in Denmark to form a 3 man team to visit other production companies within the Velux group who require support. I am currently studdying for a NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational health and safety.
