Gary M. Broadbent is a seasoned legal executive and board member who has guided public and private companies in diverse industries through debt offerings totaling $9.3B, public equity offerings exceeding $1.9B, over $5.1B of acquisitions, and $0.7B of divestitures. Gary provides candid, strategic, and trusted board-level guidance to companies and C-suite executives throughout the company’s lifecycle, including IPO, capital raises, organic and M&A growth, divestiture, and wind down. Gary currently serves as the lead independent board member for Revol Green, Inc., the largest greenhouse lettuce grower in North America, where he has successfully closed financing from private sources. As AppHarvest’s Chief Legal Officer, Chief Restructuring Officer, and Corporate Secretary, Gary guided the company from post-IPO and hypergrowth stages to a successful restructuring effort resulting in the value-maximizing sale of all major assets, the continued operation of the company’s high-tech farming facilities, and the preservation of over 1,000 jobs. Gary served as General Counsel to: GenCanna Global, Inc., the country’s largest producer of hemp and hemp-derived products, valued at over $1.2B; and Mission Coal Company, a large metallurgical coal mining company, where he helped to preserve over 1,200 jobs and shed over $1.4B in liabilities. Gary spent eight years at Murray Energy Corporation (parent of NYSE: FELP), where he structured and closed over $4.9B in domestic and international acquisitions and multiple recapitalizations, helping Murray Energy become the largest underground coal company in the United States. Gary also guided Rubicon Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: RBT), a software company focused on waste management and recycling, through its successful $1.7B merger, resulting in the company becoming listed on NYSE. Gary earned a BA from Kent State University and JD and MBA degrees from Case Western Reserve University.
