I develop web and mobile applications for Perth entrepreneurs. I have over 25 years experience in developing commercial software in innovative WA companies since 1993; from early digital video editing systems to Scitech's exhibition workshop to safety-critical software for eye surgery and Perth’s trains to commerce, finance and insurance web and mobile applications. My chosen development technologies are Nodejs, Ruby on Rails and Emberjs for the web, and Xamarin (C#.Net) for cross platform mobile. I take a disciplined but pragmatic approach to software development, using agile techniques to ensure software quality and open source and cloud services to avoid reinventing the proverbial wheel. Over the years I have developed my own libraries and tools which you can see on my Github profile.I enjoy finding lateral solutions to customer problems using existing and new technologies and practices. At several companies I have set up the team development tools and processes, including version control, requirements management, automated testing and build processes, including to medical standards.I am always learning and interested in meeting people doing innovative things.Please note that for family reasons I am not considering offers that would involve moving away from Perth. "Next Station Claisebrook"). The system works via GPS and provides a touch screen console to the train driver for manual or automatic control. Multiple carriages can be connected and synchronised, and includes other inputs and outputs to the train hardware. I developed the drivers console, GPS and carriage signal watching logic, station and announcement database, announcement audio playback, visual display triggering and networking system between carriages. I built this in C# for Windows Embedded mostly as the sole developer. -
