Automotive Service Advisor
Current• Evaluate automotive problems and services by listening and clearly documenting customer’s description of symptoms, clarifying description of problems, conducting walkaround inspections of vehicles, checking vehicle maintenance records, examining existing service schedules, and taking test drives when necessary.• Communicate frequently with customers the expected time of their repairs and in many cases calling with updates of delays and unexpected findings.• Verify warranty and service contract coverage, developing estimates, writing repair orders, maintaining customer rapport and records as well as assigning mechanics to jobs.• Develops estimates by costing materials, supplies, and Labor.• Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required.• Maintain customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return date of vehicle, obtaining customer’s approval of estimates, obtained and provide contact telephone numbers, answering questions and concerns, arrange towing and temporary transportation.• Obtain approval signatures and enters RO into service database system.• Maintain automotive records by recording problems and corrective actions planned.
