Whether the subject is sports, race relations, the media, social history, or the resilience of the human spirit, his writing, and keynote speeches, entertain and illuminate. He has served the past thirteen years as a lecturer in Stanford University’s Graduate Program in Journalism, and before that as a Distinguished Visiting Professor of Journalism at Emory University in Atlanta.
