A IT Programme, procurement and project consulting practice specialising in the Healthcare domain.

Talarius is a leading retail company offering leisure services to high street customers. Spread across the UK with 170 outlets.My main role was to manage business change initiatives for the UK organisation and coordinate with the Australian parent company. I successfully project managed the roll out of a large service system that organised the company's engineering teams service calls. I worked closely with the development to install and maintain an electronic monitoring system for the machines used by stores around the UK. These projects where done in conjunction with many smaller projects where I introduced change and resource management procedures allowing the work to be completed on time and to budget.My other responsibility was to manage the day to day operation of the IT department and this included internal software developments and a large scale infrastructure supporting 170 retail outlets.I reported to the CEO and attended the UK board meetings.

I contracted to a number of NHS Trusts and PCTs as a Project Manager consulting on procurement and service delivery. I also advised a number of consultancy companies and their clients on the NHS and healthcare market place in the UK. I recently consulted on the procurement of a document management system at an acute NHS trust in London.

Dictate IT is a one-stop source of medical transcription, digital dictation and speech recognition services for the medical industry. Clients include NHS Trusts, GP practices and private medical groups.I helped design and coordinate the development of a new product and introduced PRINCE2 methodology to the operations team to allow for successful implementation of the product at three NHS trusts.I was also instrumental in the pre-sales process and won a number of large contracts.My main responsibility was carrying out the day to day business operations, this included development, delivery and support of Dictate’s applications and services as well as the IT infrastructure. I manage the ISO audits and HR aspects of the company whilst coordinating the finance department. I reported to the Managing Director and coordinated the work of an offshore subsidiary delivering transcription services.

I coordinated the initiation of a project for implementing a LIMS at a large acute Trust in London including the departmental resourcing for the project.

Reporting to the General Manager, I managed revenue stream for all projects ensuring company targets were met. I had responsibility for the staff resources encompassing project management, implementation and support. I was involved in the pre-sales process and was successful in winning a major contract in London.I successfully managed a number of key projects including a major interfacing project and a consolidation project of three departments at a large London Trust.I ensured that an extensive backlog of work was completed and introduced Prince2 methodology to the project team.

Reporting to the General Manager of the UK organisation and managing all of Cerner’s Service Management and Service Desk support delivering to both the London and Southern programmes of CfH.

Reporting to the Managing Director and managing a large department of over 200 staff delivering support to a large customer base ranging from single user systems to large high availability environments with responsibility for annual revenue of £45 million. The department had responsibility for maintaining and delivering an array of essential high availability business services covered by strict service levels. The team provides a 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support function comprising operational support of multi-national call centre, data centre, operating system support and application support.

Reporting to the Operations Director and managing a large department of over 100 staff delivering the support to a large customer base with mission critical environments. The department had responsibility for maintaining and delivering a 24 x 7 x 365 operation to professional standards and procedures.

With responsibility for the staff resources encompassing project management, implementation and support to the Healthcare sector primarily the NHS. Ensured customer satisfaction was maintained to a high standard and service level agreements were achieved.Managed the setting up of a UK branch from the infrastructure through the accounting processes which included the installation of all business systems used throughout the organisation. Set-up and maintained a 24 x 7 x 365 on-call support structure and implemented remote access tools to provide rapid response to system outages or degraded service.Project managed a wide variety of projects including the full life cycle of software development, million pound EC procurement projects using Prince2 methodology.

Reported to the Business Unit Manager and responsible for the development, implementation and on-going support for bespoke software delivered to the Healthcare Sector.Role included the definition, design and development of complex systems for the NHS including a radiology system that was eventually installed in many trusts and became one of the leading systems.Managed the design and implementation of development procedures, these gained the company BSI accreditation; this was vital for the future sales to the NHS.

Reported to the Operations Manager and responsible for the implementation of national radiology system procured by the Scottish NHS.Role included project management of several systems to be delivered in a short timescale. Regular meetings with senior NHS staff both on site and within the national user group.
