About Gary Norwalt

Having been an educator for over 20 years has given me the chance to see the explosion of technology that is become available to high school and middle school students. Trained as an Electrical Engineer I have always loved technology and how its advances can change our world so dramatically. Education is the launch pad for those innovations. As a teacher its been my goal to spark my students' imagination and hopefully their love for the field that I have enjoyed so much. In our lab students are provided with access to software and technology they will find in the real world. This has been accomplished through partnerships I have formed with companies like Delta Tau Control Systems, DelCAM and Pro-engineer. Its fun to watch the faces of working professionals when they hear that my 8th grade students are learning and producing product using the same software they use. I enjoy seeing former students that thrive and succeed in small part because of a computer or technology class that fired them up. I also bring this love of teaching to my fellow faculty and staff members. There is a great satisfaction when you see your fellow teachers incorporating the technologies I've been able to show them into their own programs. I've also recently expanded my interests into the world of online and flipped learning. The flipped environment allows for more teacher interaction with the students in class and the ability to bring concepts to life using class time for projects. I look forward to bringing my passion and skills for computers and technology to students and teachers daily.

Listed skills include Teaching, Curriculum Design, Public Speaking, Educational Leadership, and 6 others.
