My experience in the mortgage industry began in 1977. I was a partner with a co-worker in real estate investment when he suggested that I obtain my real estate sales license. This was to allow us access to listings on the MLS so that we could find out about properties for sale before the public was given the information. A year later, I needed to renew my license and I had to take 24 hours of renewal education. My work scheule at that time kept me mostly out of state so I flew in for a weekend renewal class at Arizona School of Real Estate in Scottsdale. It just so happens that the class was a Mortgage Broker License prepatory class. After completing the class, passing the class test, I decided to sit for the state exam as well. After passing that test, I obtained my Arizona Mortgage Broker's license and worked in this field (part time) until 1981, when interest rates became so high that no one was borrowing any money.In 1973, I began my working career as a geologist technician and a land agent for the local copper mine. This position kept me on the road and traveling for about eleven months out of the year.In 1981, after getting married, I transferred to the open pit mine as a surveyor. Later on, I became a Shift Supervisor and kept that position until 1990, when I left the mine after seventeen years to enter the mortgage industry.Specialties: I am a Government insured loan program expert (FHA, VA & USRDA) and have over twenty-six years of experience with these types of loans.I specialize in purchase money loans and working with Realtors.I am a Certified Mortgage Consultant with the National Association of Mortgage Brokers.I am a certified instructor in real estate finance for Realtors and prelicensing and continuing education for mortgage professionals at the Arizona School of Real Estate & Business in Scottsdale.I Just completed my eighth textbook for Mortgage Loan Originators for Hondros Publishing.
