I reported directly to the Managing Director of Kings Security Systems.I delivered a first class service to the high street, maintaining their security systems and delivering their maintenance schedules set against KPIs. I monitored 20,000 clients including McDonalds, Arcadia, Mothercare, Starbucks, Dixons, KFC, Boots, and Co-op. Responsible for 100 personnel (eg senior technicians, area managers and engineers) I also headed an operations and communications centre and was solely accountable for my department’s profit and loss. I restructured operations, introducing a new vehicle management system and implementing new operational areas to improve our service quality. My changes were instrumental in increasing performance and maximising profitability.I was appointed as the Chairman for the British Security Industry Association (BSIA ), a position which enabled me to upgrade our national industry standards. I successfully relocated the whole operation from Hemel Hempstead to West Yorkshire, meeting what were described as "impossible deadlines" and a £1,000,000 budget. Unusually in BT, I was able to influence at the highest level. I recruited externally, building excellent working partnerships with various recruitment agencies and negotiated a complete package, to include salaries, training, and ongoing coaching. This enabled me to get operations up, running and productive quickly, successfully meeting the launch deadline.
