• Worked on new projects which include mechanical packaging and architecture, metal castings, plastic injection parts, bearings, shafts, etc for automotive high volume production. • Responsible for the mechanical architecture of the Model S powertrain, designed the large castings and cooling architecture and various other components including several patent submissions from this work.• Worked on 3 distinct generations of the Roadster motor.• Designed and improved various components in the motor and its cooling system, including an epoxy encapsulation process to significantly improve the cooling of the motor. • Performed engineering calculations in Excel and stress analysis in both Solidworks and Catia FEA packages to support and improve the design of the electric drivetrain.• Performed detailed tolerance stackups to ensure proper fitment and the appropriate GD&T were applied to the drawings.• Performed CAD design work both in Solidworks 2007 and Catia V5• Developed manufacturing assembly tooling and process to support the motor manufacturing launch at our Taiwan manufacturing plant.

• Design and fabrication of special effects props, masks, creatures and costumes for the film, theater and entertainment industries.• Worked with clients to develop stylistic concept and specifications to suit their needs, timeframe and budget restrictions.

•• Responsible for engineering and development of raised aftermarket suspension systems for passenger trucks. This includes designing a variety of types of products from castings, machined parts and weldments in both an in-house manufacturing environment and through vendor supplied parts.• Manage project timelines and ISO9000 documentation related to suspension and engineering projects. • Work with manufacturing to resolve production issues and redesign existing product for ease of manufacturing and/or less cost.• Work with QC department to evaluate part-to-print quality as well as ensuring the part is dimensioned so it meets the design requirements, but can be inspected

• Responsible for the design and development of suspension and chassis components for the high performance aftermarket. Includes over 100 stabilizer bar sets, 40 coil spring sets and numerous chassis braces, control arms, alignment devices and shock absorber packages.• Developed an in-depth understanding of vehicle dynamics and how to tune various types of vehicle platforms.• Handled every aspect of product development from conceptualization, CAD drawings, prototype fabrication, testing and on through to production.• Responsible for instituting in-house manufacturing of bent tubular products. Specified requirements for manufacturing and inspection equipment designed tooling and brought bent tubing products under direct control of Hotchkis.• In charge of testing sessions, during which, a variety of test equipment was used to measure the high speed characteristics of vehicles to ensure a safe, but valuable product for the high performance consumer.

• Responsible for the development of shock and strut systems for OEM vehicles by meeting with customers to define requirements, creating test plans, scheduling prototype builds, tuning shock valving and analyzing test data to evaluate component performance.• Instrumented test vehicles with data acquisition equipment for NVH studies.• Interfaced with customers to ensure specifications, concerns and problems were addressed and properly fixed.
