I returned to work for Renn Kirby shortly after the company bought a Chevrolet Dealership. At Bogley, I learned a lot about truck sales and felt that I could combine my skills with a company that has advancement opportunities. This was a challenging environment to become a sales manager. I had to manage a sales team that was twice my age and selling cars for over 20 years. During this time I helped implement my sales process. I taught the team a sales process that they are currently using. Four out of four of my salesmen have doubled their income just by not skipping steps. I have promoted a salesperson to a successful manager, which has given me more time to focus on other areas inside the company. Currently, I have implemented an F&I process that has increased backend gross over $300 a unit.

This position was a sink or swim opportunity. There were two computers in the dealership. There was one on the owner's desk and one to look up parts that connected to the internet by dial up. All the paperwork and accounting was done by hand including leases. There were used cars that had been in inventory for almost a year and the new car inventory was made up of the same packaged vehicles just different colors. My pay plan was negotiated with a handshake. The good news was I had a five minute commute to work. I had the opportunity to build relationships with local customers and businesses that I seen everyday in town. I was able to apply the sales skills that learned and taught at my previous job and assist the owner with quickly growing his business. With these skills and my willingness to learn new things I was able to help increase the yearly sales 100% in 2004.

I actually was the lot attendant during the summers from 1990 to 1994. Shortly after High School I was introduced to car sales. I had no way to pay for college so I decided to work full time and attend the Community College. I made average wages a even earned salesperson of the month 3 times, but it was not until I learned that I was going to make a career out of sales that my income doubled. The company offer me an opportunity to manage the struggling Mitsubishi Department. After building a young aggressive sales team, we nearly doubled unit sales in one year. The company gave me the title of new car manager and shortly later I had to oversee the F&I Department with very little opportunity for a pay increase. I quickly realized I could make just a much money as a sales consultant again.
