Gary’s professional career in the collector car industry has spanned over 45 years, throughout which he has become one of most respected individuals in the field – if not THE most respected – for not only his knowledge of cars, but also for his honesty, integrity and credibility. He has been actively buying, selling and participating in the collector car lifestyle auction industry since 1971, and also acted as a Vice President for Barrett-Jackson Auctions, overseeing the Consignment, Bidder, Guest Services, and Insurance departments. During his 17-year employment, he was key in exponentially growing the company from $18M to $130M in sales during their signature event alone, and expanding the company from one to quarterly events. In addition, he was responsible for negotiating, helping to secure, and managing noteworthy sponsorships with Ford (2005), General Motors (2004), Chrysler/Dodge (initially in 1996), and many others. He has always been involved in the charitable components of Barrett-Jackson, and is passionate about these organizations and their causes. Throughout his varied career, Gary has been involved in many aspects of the automotive industry, including restoration, aftermarket, and design. He became an avid racecar driver, and has won many awards racing vintage NASCAR, Trans-Am and open wheel race cars. Considered an expert in his field, Gary has been quoted often in noteworthy publications such as Motor Trend, Autoweek, the New York Times, and many others.
