Gary is an international leader, board member and business advisor focussing on financial services, insurance and professional services. Since retiring from KPMG in September 2022 he has focussed on building a portfolio leveraging his senior global leadership experience, knowledge of financial services and love of ESG and technology start ups. - He is a NED on a Bermudian Insurance Company where he also sits on the underwriting and investment committees. - He is also a NED of a company overseeing the operations of a number of KPMG member firms in Cayman, Caricom, The Caribbean, The Crown Dependencies and Malta. - He has just joined the board of a technology company as a NED to help drive growth. The company is a start up that is pioneering new ways to capture personal histories and digital stories, and looking at how they can be applied to social care (adult and children) end of life care and UK heritage. - He has also joined the global advisory board of a Fintech whose mission is to empower rural African villages by enabling affordable and convenient access to a holistic set of services designed to enhance earnings of women, farmers and entrepreneurs.Prior to this, he spent 37 years at KPMG - 26 of them as a partner - in a variety of roles. For the last five years he was the Global Head of Clients and Markets which put him at the heart of global decision making as a member of the firm’s Global Management Team. He was responsible for developing and executing growth strategies across the firm’s top 200 clients and all industry sectors. In this role he was also responsible for global marketing and led an exercise to reposition KPMG’s brand - he also helped develop and launch KPMG’s ESG strategy. Most of his career in KPMG was spent in Financial Services - and in particular insurance where he was global head of the sector for four years delivering 18% revenue growth over two years.He has always loved working across the world as a member and leader of diverse high performing teams. He has lived in four countries and worked in over 40.
