Rtp Raleigh, Nc
As the Team Manager and Lead Technical Writer for Rational Developer for z Systems, Rational Development and Test Environment for z Systems, and Rational Development and Test Environment for z Systems Tools I plan, schedule, design, and develop online information, PDFs, HTML, newsletters, whitepapers, technical bulletins, and process/requirements documentation. I have successfully led a team of highly skilled technical professionals for more than fifteen consecutive releases, supporting as many as three different projects while meeting or exceeding all expectations, commitments, and deadlines. I manage the teams efforts as we develop the documentation balancing the workload across the team and ensuring that the team members remain challenged, productive and efficient. I ensure the documentation adheres to all requirements, guidelines and specifications set by corporate policy. I coordinate the team as we communicate with customers, developers, test, human factors, and service and support to understand the product and user requirements, analyze the current trends within the market, and come up with new or modified techniques, media, and procedures to fill those needs. I implement quality measures, reviews, and documentation testing to ensure quality. I interface with management, development, marketing, service and support, vendors, translation centers, test, and other global organizations to coordinate the teams efforts with those of development to ensure our success. As a senior lead writer, I provide leadership, writing, and technical guidance to team members, peers, contractors, and other teams. I share expertise and advice, providing guidance and helping others resolve issues. I participate in an ID optimization work group where I help facilitate collaboration, advocate cross product consistency, promote common processes and procedures, and I author a monthly “Best Practices” newsletter to share expertise across the business unit.
