CAS Support, DAC AdministratorI started in Network Engineering after getting my CCNA, Network+, and A+ certifications. After the company purchased some Cox properties I then relocated to Tyler, TX in the Conditional Access group.Responsible for remote management, configuration and support of CATV industry related devices: DAC6000, NAGRA, RADD6000, KLS1000 and KLS2000, NC1500, NC2000, IRT, SEM, OM1000, OM2000, RPD/ARPD, APEX 1000, CASMR100, Motorola SmartStream Device Manager (SDM) and Triveni Guide Builder.I have written several bash scripts for our DACs and CASMR to help with looking up data from the database, that is not easily found in the built-in reports. I've also written a some to package backups into compressed tar file and automatically move them over to offsite servers. I expanded the simulcrypt report to give much more information than the default that was there to get data for easy import into the Nagra system when we started Simulcrypt. While with the company, I have obtained my Linux Essentials, LPIC-1, Linux+ while in the CAS group. I'm currently working on LPIC-2 and Python, and RHCSA.Project management of new system launches, HITS, NAS, digital and all encryption migrations.Support for all HD/SD DTA related hardware and software platforms and the TiVo, Pace, Motorola, Arris, Huawei and Altice One set-tops.Perform software upgrades, code deployments, system backups, security encryption, service muxing, channel mapping, service launches, interactive pay-per-view, premium packages, billing system integration and interactive apps: VOD, Caller ID, FWM/EBIF.Maintain relationship with equipment vendors and work closely to develop strategies for better deployment, recovery and understanding of the technologies.

I started out as a front line support technician for a DSL company. I later moved into Tier 2 support. Within the company, I moved into support for Yahoo Stores. I also did the email support for Yahoo Stores We then got an account with Microsoft where I did support for Windows 95 after Microsoft support ended. After that, I moved into the quality assurance group where I monitored agents support calls.
