Lead a team of 19 underwriting professionals focused on the Property & Casualty and Personal Lines for the Mid-Atlantic Region of the Contract Underwriting Division. Grew our market share position from #8 to #3 in the three years I was honored to lead the region, while increasing net operating income from $9 million to $23 million over that same period of time. Thanks to an amazing group of insurance professionals who were affectionately called "The Middies", we collectively and effectively executed on our strategy to increase market share and net operating income.

Accountable for leading or co-leading complex strategic market research projects for the Scottsdale Group of insurance companies (Scottsdale Insurance Company, Western Heritage Insurance Company, Freedom Specialty Insurance Company, National Casualty Company, Scottsdale Indemnity Insurance Company, Scottsdale Surplus Lines Insurance Company). Meet with business unit leaders to understand their information/intelligence needs in order to deliver insight in support of strategic marketing activities, opportunity due diligence and cross-brand initiatives and presents findings to senior management.I have good cross-functional organizational agility and deep knowledge of business strategy, working closely with our strategy leaders. When called upon, I provide direction in planning, design, development and implementation of market research projects at the company or division level for internal and external audiences. I collaborate and consult with associates to determine appropriate solutions for the most complex and ambiguous market research projects that involve multiple disciplines and impact multiple business units. I initiate, evaluate and recommend best research supplier companies and work to create sophisticated data collection and reporting instruments, while initiating recommendations to pursue new product and/or marketing opportunities. I also provide direction, insight and recommendations for complex marketing strategies, based on findings from research, for improving business performance.I maintain contact with industry personnel and associates to keep current on product trends, legislative changes, customer preferences, and related research.
