Reducing duplicated costs for ASDA and doubling revenue.• Sales increased after convincing the Group board to invest in uncharted waters, securing authority to buy a company called Kempston which carried out the refurbishment of display cases with a margin of 40%; the investment cost was $1m.• Expanded the company’s activities into Poland and Hungary with projects in excess of $1m each, representing new supermarkets for TESCO, the first ones they every built in that market.• Secured a retail and petroleum “one stop” tender with Safeway and a joint venture with BP for convenience stores; increased sales by $3m.
