Over the past 30 years, I’ve had the opportunity to speak with hundreds of business leaders about their organizations. Nearly all of them talked about the importance of having great talent, getting their people engaged with the organization’s mission, and “acting like owners” in the decisions their people make and the actions they take. Few of these leaders believed they had effectively reached these goals. Still fewer could articulate the “next steps” toward achieving them. These leaders are not alone.
